Are you the type of person who really enjoys travelling, but does not enjoy the over crowded tourist locations? It is so easy to get frustrated by crowds and rude people, leaving you with sour thoughts of what was supposed to be a relaxing getaway.
There are many things to think about when you are planning a relaxing vacation. Aside from the location, an important factor is determining when the best time to schedule a vacation is. Here are three tips to help you determine when the best time to vacation is, if you are hoping to avoid large tourist crowds.

1. If you plan to take your kids with you, travel during your child’s vacation. It can be difficult for a child to get caught up with school work after missing multiple days of school, so ideally your child will travel while school is not in session. Often that leaves summer time, Spring break and Winter break. Look for locations that are not as popular so you can enjoy relaxing family time together without the craziness of crowds. There are many hidden gems in the world that do not get much attention simply because people do not know they are out there.

2. If you plan to go to a region in the Southern Hemisphere, schedule your trip in the winter months. While it is winter for you in the Northern Hemisphere, it will be summer for them and you will enjoy a lovely warm excursion.

3. Avoid high travel volume by going in off seasons. Fall is the ideal time to take a trip if you do not want to be in the midst of tourists. You should still experience fair temperatures, yet be able to sight see and visit attractions comfortably. Also, prices in the fall are often reduced for attractions because it is the off season.
